The History of McKinney Marshals Baseball
Founded in 1996, the McKinney Marshals have helped 500+ players commit to college baseball programs.
Mike Henneman, founder
The McKinney Marshals were originally founded by ex-Major League pitcher Mike Henneman. After retiring from Major League Baseball, his sons started playing baseball and, as his sons got older and more involved in competitive youth baseball, Mike became concerned by what he saw in many youth baseball programs — a win-at-all-costs mentality where wins meant more than instruction. Determined to develop a better way, he founded the McKinney Marshals in 1996.
A Familiar Brand
Over the years, the McKinney Marshals brand has come to stand for quality, competitiveness and doing things the right way. With multiple national championships under their belt, and hundreds of players having moved on to play college and professional baseball, the Marshals have proved that success can be had through a focus on athleticism, academics, character and work ethic.
David Hadeler, Director
A longtime, well-known baseball coach in Texas and the DFW area, David Hadeler was coaching one of the best 17U teams in the nation in 2007 with Mike Henneman’s McKinney Marshals organization when Mike was offered the opportunity to coach professionally as a pitching coach at the minor league level with his former professional club, the Detroit Tigers. At Mike’s request, David assumed leadership of the Marshals and has steered the organization since.
