Organization
Our program is set up to help players develop year after year. The base of our program will be our 8U through 14U competitive youth teams, which will feed into our 15U and 16U high school prep teams, which will in turn feed into our 17U and 18U college prep team. This approach is designed specifically to give our athletes the background, training, and opportunity to excel and advance from competitive youth baseball, to High School ball, to College ball and possibly beyond. We strive to do this by hand-picking select coaches to serve as head coaches for the competitive youth teams. At 15U and above our teams are only coached by paid professional coaches. These coaches have all played and coached at levels beyond club baseball. Finally, our 17U and 18U teams are designed to 'showcase' Marshals ballplayers to College coaches and scouts for possible scholarship opportunities.

Focus and Values
The McKinney Marshals organization is designed to provide players with a structured approach to help them achieve their baseball dreams, whether that dream is to play collegiate baseball, make the high school team, or simply be the best player they can be.
Our focus as an organization is on the overall experience of playing in our organization -- from teaching young athletes the game of baseball, to counseling them on how to successfully combine athletics and academics, to advancing to the 'next level' of play, to working with them to compete with the highest levels of integrity and character. We will strive to put the most competitive teams possible on the field, but we will place equal emphasis on teaching our athletes about teamwork, sportsmanship, hard work, integrity, character and self-disipline.
Always, we will strive to provide an environment where student-athletes are instructed and prepared physically, mentally and emotionally to successfully compete in baseball and in life. In addition to teaching our players the physical skills of the game, we will work to give them a better understanding of the 'game within the game,' and how to play it with focus and character. It is upon these philosophies and values that prospective High School, Collegiate and Professional players will be trained and developed.

History
The McKinney Marshals were originally founded by ex-Major League pitcher Mike Henneman. After retiring from Major League Baseball, his sons started playing baseball and, as his sons got older and more involved in competitive youth baseball, Mike became concerned by how some youth clubs were run and how some teams and coaches conducted themselves. He decided to find a way that kids could learn the intricacies of the game of baseball, 'The game within the game', yet still have fun while playing it. He started a 'select' team, the RedHawks, which grew into a small organization of teams after a few years.
Eventually the dream included building the 'Ballfields at Craig Ranch' baseball complex and acquiring the Texas Collegiate League franchise of the McKinney Marshals. At the same time, the youth teams became the McKINNEY MARSHALS Youth Baseball Organization. The growth of the organization, the quality of the coaching, the success of the teams and the overall experience for players and families attracted more and more new players and in just a few short years the Marshals became one of the most respected select baseball programs in the country, winning numerous national titles and sending many athletes on to play collegiate baseball. Although Mike has since gone on to new things, his legacy lives on as one of the best select baseball programs in the country.
